Zhabinka District

The Zhabinka District is one of the smallest in the region, between Brest and Kobrin. It was formed on 15 January 1940. Zhabinka is known from 1816 as an estate, and 1871, when the railway came here, is considered the year the town was founded. In 1921-1939 it belonged to the Kobryń county of the Polesie Voivodeship of Poland; Zhabinka became a town in 1970.
