Gantsevichi District

The Gantsevichi District lies in the north-east of the region, in the south-eastern Pripyat Polesia, about 1,710 km². It was formed on 15 January 1940; in 1962-1966 its lands belonged to the Lyakhovichi District, and then the district was restored. Gantsevichi has been a town since 1973.

The Tsna, Bobrik and Lan flow through the district; here are the Loktyshi Reservoir and part of the Vygonoshchanskoe reserve. The maps show the district, the town, the reservoir and Gantsevichi on 19th-century maps.
