Ivatsevichi District
The Ivatsevichi District lies in the north of the region and is one of the largest, about 3,000 km². It was formed on 15 January 1940 as the Kossovo District with its centre in Kossovo; the centre moved to Ivatsevichi in 1947. In 1962 the district was joined to the Bereza District, in 1965 it was restored, and Ivatsevichi has been a town since 1966.
The 1559 survey of the royal forests names an estate of Ivachevichi and dozens of nearby tracts and streams; many of these names can still be seen on the map of 1893.
