Drogichin District
The Drogichin District lies in the south-west of the region, about 1,900 km², and borders the Volyn Region of Ukraine in the south. Drogichin is first mentioned in 1452. The name is explained in different ways: from the Dregovichi tribe or from a crossroads of the routes from Galician Rus to Slonim and from Brest to Pinsk.
The district belongs to the Dnieper basin: the Yaselda, Nesluha and Plesa flow here, and the Dnieper-Bug Canal passes through it.
