Part of Poland: the Polesie Voivodeship (1921-1939)

After the First World War and the Polish-Soviet War, under the Peace of Riga of 1921, these lands passed to Poland. Most of them formed the Polesie Voivodeship with its centre in Brest, then called Brześć nad Bugiem; Baranovichi became part of the Nowogródek Voivodeship.

The voivodeships were divided into counties (powiats). In 1931 Zhabinka was a small town of the Kobryń county, Bereza Kartuska of the Prużana county; the Prużana county itself was transferred to the Polesie Voivodeship in 1930.

Polish maps of this time are labelled in Polish: Dawidgródek, Prużana, Żabinka, Bereza Kartuska. The maps of David-Gorodok of 1923 and 1932 show how the surroundings of the town changed in ten years - they can be compared with the map of 1866.
